The goal was to take the blank carburetor cover above (originally all black) and duplicate the same graphics as the smaller.
The original was printed graphics, note: the fine black pin-lines around the inner/outter edges. Therefore I was already at a dis-advantage with using layered vinyl.

It was quite tricky to determine the correct curvature of the cover and to make the text appear proportionate.
