I thought I’d give a helmet wrap a try with some 2 mil 3M matte black vinyl.
This stuff stretches a lot surprisingly. It’s pretty obvious that it was not the right material for the wrap as their are many vinyls out there with an air release built-in and can have more stretch on their memory. Overall effect is pretty good. I just wanted to cover up the neon pink, which it did, for the most part.
The first piece I applied ended up bunching in a section so I just chopped it. Lesson learned.
Too much stretch = very thin vinyl. It’s delicate and chips if hit.
